Wahkeena Falls Loop Hike

Today Rich and I went for a hike in the gorge with Dave and Blaine. It was a breathtakingly beautiful day - breezy, warmish, and clear.

We started about 1/2 mile west of Multnomah Falls, hiked past several falls, and then came out at Multnomah Falls. It was great! Then we had a potluck dinner at Baba's house. Now I am waiting to watch Desperate Housewives.

aargghh. We have just been talking, thinking, googling about the countertops. The countertops are still dark wine/brick. Still too red. Tonight I experimented a bit on the underside of one of them, but because it hadn't been sanded etc. it is hard to tell. I managed to make a purple color out of some of the various colorants we still have left from the floor. So, it is a matter of figuring out what will penetrate the best. Water doesn't seem to work that good. There is a brand available that is dry pigment that you mix with acetone. So we were just talking about just mixing some of our colorant with acetone to see what happens. It is cement, afterall - not real possible to ruin. So maybe we'll just experiment with it until we get it close to right. Other than the color being wrong, they are gorgeous. So, we shall see. Because we can color and sand etc.

Might I suggest you sacrifice a neighbor or co-worker and use that person's blood to stain thy countertops.
